National Housing Preservation Database
The National Housing Preservation Database is provided by the Public and Affordable Housing Research Corporation (PAHRC) and the National Low Income Housing Coalition (NLIHC). We have recently updated the data in the National Housing Preservation Database on March 31, 2014, and we invite you to view new data on US Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) project-based properties and HUD-insured properties.
As a reminder, we also redesigned the user interface in December 2013, and now offer a number of improved features such as:
- Expanded choice of data fields (at both property and subsidy level)
- New data table with dynamic search and filter capabilities
- Ability to add/remove data fields to customize grid
- Ability to expand each property-level entry to view subsidy information below
- Download capabilities for customized property and subsidy tables
- Expanded choices of pre-populated datasets including State and Congressional District subsets
- New electronic format options when downloading pre-populated datasets
These features can be accessed through our improved 'Research tool.' Also available, the 'Mapping tool,' which plots all assisted housing properties by subsidy type on an interactive, customizable map.
As the National Housing Preservation Database currently does not contain local and state data, users are encouraged to visit the User Guide for detailed instructions on how to add this information. Users are also invited to provide additional feedback on the data and the user interface.
