Post Judgment Collections Training for Attorneys

The Intersection of Family Law and Bankruptcy Training for Attorneys

This training will bring together a family law practitioner and a skilled bankruptcy attorney to discuss the intersection between these two areas of law. Topics will include bankruptcy 101, property and other asset issues when your client or adverse party files bankruptcy, adverse proceedings – what are they and how do they overlap with the family court matter, drafting settlement agreements to protect your client’s best interests, and post judgment matters including enforcing settlement agreements or court orders.

This training is free, but requires the acceptance of one MVLS Chapter 7 bankruptcy or family law case within a year of the training. Attorneys can choose which legal area they prefer to accept the case.

REPRESENTING UNACCOMPANIED YOUTH: SPECIAL IMMIGRANT JUVENILE STATUS (SIJS)

The Pro Bono Resource Center of Maryland (PBRC) is searching for volunteer attorneys who are willing to help the rising number of unaccompanied Central American youth who are fleeing violence and unrest in their home countries.  Over 2,800 minors have been placed in Maryland, giving our state the highest number of unaccompanied children per capita.  Any lawyer, whether Maryland-barred or not, is eligible to volunteer in this effort by providing pro bono representation to these vulnerable children and/or mentorship to other pro bono attorneys. 

Interested volunteers are invited to attend the below free training which will be suitable for attorneys of all experience levels. A live webinar is also available.
